We already spoke about the organization within a company and about the benefits of using Project Management tools.

Following these notes, we will now focus our attention on task management.

When developing a project, its management is essential not only for complying with established deadlines but also for attaining an ideal performance.

All projects are made up of a series of tasks which must be performed so as to accomplish desirable goals.

Said tasks have diverse priorities, levels of difficulty, descriptions and many other characteristics which make them particular.

Under the premise posed by the importance of task management, we hereby offer some advice:

Task management

Appointing the team

The fact of knowing the skills of each member of the team is the key for appointing the ideal person for each task. It’s very useful to have a project leader for each area (design, marketing, development, etc.), who will know each member better and hence will be able to allocate tasks in a more effective way.

Establishing priorities

One of the main points is to establish the level of importance and urgency of the task. Knowing its importance will help you define how many resources you should assign for it to be fulfilled and it will allow your project to be carried out with more fluency.

Determining deadlines

Despite the fact that the specific project has a deadline, it is a good practice to determine deadlines for each task. In this way the organization will be clearer and it will be easier for you to supervise its progress.

Ordering messages

Classifying or grouping messages or files related to a certain task together will facilitate communication both within the team as well as with the client.

Allocating sub-tasks

When one task depends on another task for its fulfillment it is very important to allocate it as a sub-task so as to know the interrelation degree among them and the order in which each should be executed.
